Black Ink. Hospitality Consultants was born after Chris was constantly helping out friends and friends of friends with their social media, reporting systems and overall advice on how to streamline and improve their hospitality operations, ranging from cafés to clubs, so it made sense to sell this advice obviously but Chris was adamant that it wouldn't be some generic business guy/accountant in a suit turning up lecturing about cost cutting blah blah it would be down to earth, honest, relatable and more importantly coaching and helping rather than a one size fits all approached used by many. Also a somewhat strange business model of not accepting all customers, but once explained by Chris made a whole lot of sense.

I have been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years, I started off in the fast food sector as a teen and gradually worked through the ranks to end up as a consultant of sorts to go into problematic stores to evaluate failures and system problems in order to streamline the individual locations and assist the restaurant managers to fix ongoing issues, now at this point you can make fun of the fast food industry and say that isn't a restaurant BUT if fast food does anything well its streamline, know their GP, know their market, know their sales patterns, plan, adapt and basically has mastered world domination, so this experience within fast food has given me very very valuable knowledge and experience and is completely relatable to both my businesses and yours. After years of making other people money I decided to go at it for myself and set up my own bar, how hard could it be right? Sound familiar? Well this is where the real tough business lessons started for me! Over the years I have purchased, sold and built up numerous restaurants and bars and again have learnt from lessons taught the hard way, numerous different locations have meant that I have constantly been learning customer behaviors, seasonal trading solutions and social media hacks along the way, and now I am able to offer guidance in all aspects of this industry of ours. After those 25 years and here I am still owning and operating my own venues but now bringing all that experience and knowledge to your venue. Im not someone with countless degrees or pieces of paper, I am self taught and have made almost every mistake there was to make, i don't bring book smarts (my staff do that) I bring honest, blunt, to the point assessments of each venue but also feasible, cost effective and proven ideas and stratagies to help fellow hospitality operators.
